World Aids Day

The organisation has its roots in the response to HIV and AIDS prevention and intervention among the women and girls in low income areas of Nairobi. The initiative identified and mitigates the need of women and girls who suffer discrimination, marginalisation and stigmatisation for different reasons. They live in vicious cycle of poverty being the main cause of indecent work therefore the organisation provides empowerment, socio-economic support, psychotherapy, and formation of support groups. Over the years Change Initiative has included intervention categories these are; youth being the majority in the country that are facing different challenges including drug and alcohol abuse, joblessness, trauma, stress, depression, cultural beliefs, hopelessness, peer pressure. A growing number of vulnerable geriatric are suffering due to physical frailties and morbidity, gender based violence, lonely living, poverty, insecurity, migration among others. We support vulnerable children of the target population. Any gaps felt beyond our support, we work with support partners and referral systems.
